Title: On the road #02 - from Sagres / Portugal to Lagos / Portugal

Date: Summer 2000

Story:

If you look at Portugal like if it is a big rectangle, then Sagres, a village, is placed on its left bottom. Like so many other places in the Algarve province, this village only comes to "life" in Summer time, when its population more than doubles, with tourists.

But is it good to have such an artificial population growth?

This world is too much money oriented and most people will anwer that "yes, it is good for the region and its people to have who to trade with"; however if you forget money (and you should...) and get to fill your lungs with free-of-carbon-monoxide-air, get to stretch your eyes 'till the end of the Atlantic Ocean, and get to void your ears from the cities' honking and roaring, then you'll (re)discover that life is all about nature, all about peace-of-mind, all about feeling you have a working body, and that you are capable of being happy without electricity and without other people around.

When you start feeling like that, then it becomes obvious that paradises like Sagres should have no cars, no industry, no houses and no artificial stuff in general, so that people who are to enjoy the place, go enjoy it and keep it free of civilization.

Of course that is not possible... but I wish it was...

OK, back to reality. These pictures are taken on the road that connects Sagres to Lagos. You'll see a police car (roads are under severe vigilance on Summer days) and misc hotspots.
