Now that the debut of [portuguese] AUDIO magazine is about to happen, I've laid my hands on a pile of new AUDIO-CDs and EXTRA-CDs.
AUDIO-CDs or CD-A, are the CDs you usually play on your hi-fi equipment. EXTRA-CDs or CD-E are the CDs you can play on regular players, but will offer extra content, when played on a personal computer. Here is on CD-A...
 | Fresh pop. Nothing punk, which would be great, but something very calm, with a gal that has a voice not treble oriented, and some great instrumental moments, not quite like The Divine Comedy, but a reasonable approach, considering its target audience. A fine listening. The lyrics are rich, and that is of extreme importance. I miss the days Dire Straits ruled the world, because back then, the one who really listened to the music would found a very complex word environment. |
...and one CD-E that I did enjoy, yesterday.
 | Always trying to deliver different stuff, Sakamoto enters the CD-E bandwagon, with Discord. Unfortunately, this is just a technical difference, because the album dares less than the usual... and the extra part is just some 10 MB. Plus, you'll have to run your display @ 256 (8 bits) color, meaning that most of the people won't bother to check it, since nowadays everyone is running at least 16 bits video. Still, this is Sakamoto, and that means a detoxifying music :-) |
