#1) CHS2000

The main menu holds the best graphics of the game. From there, things do get kind of rubbish... |
CASTROL HONDA SUPERBIKES 2000 [CHS2000] was previewed to be the greatest superbike simulator. It seems to me that most reviewers forgot the game's first appearance, some months ago, when CHS2000 revealed itself as a slow, heavy, unrealistic, average on graphics game... But it is back, although without vengeance :) It is crap! I gave it a try last night, only to found that the same problems that affected its first appearance, remain! What the hell happened during all these months? For example, even if you rev the bike to some 17000 rpm, and then hit 1st gear, the thing will just crawl and gain some speed, instead of smashing you on the tarmac! Better: try to brake with all the power you've got on the narrowest corner, and you will NOT fall! Besides being nearly un-destructible, your bike also has a very unusual rear gear, and such a stability that the only way you will have an accident is by giving it full throttle @ the exit of low speed turns. What a #$%&! Dump it! And for a great superbike simulation, check a mini-review of SBK, day 30 March 1999, @ APR. |
