The Windows 98 2nd edition OS is now over two months old, yet most people who use it are north americans. European OEMs are being kind of slow in releasing their versions of the latest from Microsoft, which includes KERNEL32 version 4.3, Internet Explorer 5, DirectX 6.1 and an overall refresh of some other files.

I am very pleased with the 2nd edition of Windows 98, which allowed me to break my old "uptime" record, from 5 to 6 days :)

After 6 days running many games and productivity tools, I installed "Aliens versus Predator" [AvP], the 20th Century Fox super-superb 3D game, and I had to restart the system...

However, I must confess that if it was not for AvP, I still would have restarted PROST [my PC's network name] because there were too few free resources, each time I launched an Internet Explorer session.
