2 - Hidden & Dangerous! [mission tree at the end of garden]

Site news

The last few days have been hard, with too many projects on my hands. Hopefully, at least 2 of such projects will make it to the Tutorials section, thus getting a greater life expectancy :). I know that the Tutorials have been sleeping, since last August's tremendous effort, but, as always, you must wait until I find some more time to write them. Such projects are worth the wait, and I predict one of them to debut this very same week!

Finally, I received an e-mail from Silvia, a brazilian girl, who is willing to translate the site to [brazilian] portuguese, as requested here. If this confirms to be the case, it will be absolutely great!! As soon as it happens, I will post requests for spanish, french, german and russian translations! Interested?

In C2M3, don't do what the mission review says! Just dock the boat as soon as you can, and as far as possible, from the enemy!

This tank kicks quite an explosive power and it is the only way to blow up the small port in C2M3.

H&D - Mission "tree at the end of garden"

Another lunch hour, another mission completed. This is my Hidden and Dangerous [H&D] rhythm!, playing at the normal difficulty level.

I find some of the Internet walkthroughs to the game's missions, very amusing. For example, AVAULT runs a superb tutorial, explaining you everything about your rivals, your weapons and your missions... it is a really great ASP [Active Server Pages] document, except that it advises you in a overkill fashion...

"Mission into the darkness" is the best example I can find. AVAULT tells you to use 4 soldiers, to load them with specific weapons, to follow specific paths, to wait for specific signals, to hide behind certain objects and so on... Well, the truth is that I can complete that mission in some 2 minutes, using 1 single soldier, and nothing but a knife! And it is MUCH easier, my way:

How? Simple: pick any soldier, give it a knife, run to the clothes, wear the disguise, never try to kill anyone, run to the boat, approach the guard, use the knife on him, board the boat, throttle yourself out of there!

The thing is that more soldiers require more strategic planning and more attention. The least soldiers you use, the least expected to be spotted you are, and the easier your plan will be. I prefer to use just 2 soldiers per mission, and such attitude has been very rewarding, until now.

Tomorrow I will face Yugoslavia's last mission [C2M5 / "Last courtesy"], and I bet that my simple strategy will work, again.

If you want to confirm yourself the efficiency of my military options, go ahead and download my current position in the game. This is a small 28 K Zip file, that you must unzip to your hnd\savegame\single folder. Unless you play as "Artur", you will not have to overwrite or rename any file. Do enjoy the simplicity!
