1 - Apache Havoc

Your friends always fly low. It is easier to avoid radars, that way.

This is the american Apache. The game allows you to fly the russian Havoc. Which is best? I find the Apache much more user friendly.

Apache Havoc!

After buying a MS Force Feedback PRO Joystick, I've grown an interest on flight simulators. I usually try the demos and if they please me, then I'll buy the originals. But there is a problem with this approach: the demos aren't always very well documented, meaning that you will have a hard time finding the key assignments and learning about loads of military hardware that the best simulators do model!

In order to PC' fly the best simulators, with ALL the realism turned on, you will really need some expertise on flight physics and some general knowledge on flight hardware, such as radars, weapons and plane structure. But that is far from everything you need: civil aviation demands the compliance with several procedures for landing, cruising and take off. These procedures require radio communication with the airport's towers and the respect to priority traffic. In other words, it can be hard to go deep into flight simulators. I am just starting :)

Apache Havoc is very hard and very interesting. You are given the chance to fly two of the most popular military helicopters: the american "Apache AHA-64 Longbow" and the russian "Havoc"... I can't remember the complete name for Russia's proposal, as I've been flying the western kit.

My greatest problem is using radars and weapon locks; I have a hard time avoiding being detected by enemies, and when missiles are fired against me, my chaffs aren't enough to mislead them.

More on flight simulators, soon...
