Black & White... but the pizza WAS kind of yellow :) |
The voyeur was away for a few weeks, but now he is back. Here is a picture of my computer room, last night. The picture shows the remains of a pizza. In the background you can see my super AUDIOLAB amplifiers, that power up a pair of impressive PARADIGM REFERENCE STUDIO 100 speakers! AUDIOLAB no longer exists. It is now called MaCLAREN TAG AUDIO. This is very, very serious quality audio hardware. |
Denise website review + Denise video
Denise Tenorio first came to my attention because of a documentary about the Internet, that was broadcasted by the french-german ARTE station, some months ago. She is one of the many persons who get to express their opinions about "what is to be on-line", "what is a virtual community", "what good is the Internet", and so on...
The documentary "stars" :) some cyber famous people, that run their own private websites. As far as my humble knowledge goes, Howard Rheingod [www.rheingold.com] is easily the face that most of you will recognize. For example, the other day, while preparing a presentation on "multi user environments", I found [another] brilliant documentary, where Rheingold was interviewed [about virtual reality].
So, the question is "why to start with Denise"? And the hard answer involves talking about amateurs and pros. I think that this documentary I am talking about [which is just one fine example of what www.d-word.com can deliver], is a beautiful amateur thing. There are no special effects, no sound track, no expensive cameras, but everything glues together quite nicely. There is an obvious amateur feeling, through the whole of its +90 minutes...
Denise is very much in the spirit of the documentary, and she does some funny things, thus deserving my first commentaries :). Well, there is this Justin boy, who is also very entertaining and has very interesting oppinions... but his huge site www.links.net will have to wait until I can find some more time... May be next week...
Denise's web is very private. I don't like hard classifications, but I guess that her site falls into the on-line journals or diaries category. She calls it eLeCtRiCkA, and that is a very hard thing to write. Just try it.
Electricka - now much easier to type :) - is about the life of a girl, her friends and her thoughts on several subjects, mainly studies and relationships.
The site has a strong Art section that publishes some pictures and info about some paintings, and the inevitable Music tendencies page, where I just can't understand the Elton John [EJ] reference, although I have a bad experience with EJ's songs... but that would be another story :) And what to say of Samantha tits Fox [SF]? Eh eh eh... when I was 16 I loved that SF hit where she sang "touch me, touch me!, I wanna feel your body" [loop forever]... and that remembers me Billy Idol on "sweet sixteen"... oh boy... must stop here.

Some french subtitles that you can hardly read here...
|
Finally, here is a video of Denise... that somehow remembers me Willow of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame... quite strange... This video has exactly the same quality that you get, if you are interested in the video mpeg CDs that correspond to the documentary. Remember that today there are MANY NEW VIDEO CDs available in the trade center! Download DENISE VIDEO: moving_denise.zip [613 KB] After downloading, please unzip the file and play it with any standard mpeg player. This file is also available from the video section. |

The beginning of a remote documentary
OK, now comes the crazy idea: IF doing a superb documentary requires no more than quality contents, why don't WE ALL start a cooperative doc, again on the subject of Internet? I will get back to the subject latter, but for now, lets focus on how to participate:
- submit pictures of you, while Net' surfing.
- submit texts about your ideas on whatever you want.
- submit other pictures, videos, sounds and other media, again expressing or illustrating your ideas.
- identify yourself on the material you submit, so you can be credited.
I will then compile / edit all the stuff, in order to build the 1st ever truly remote digital documentary. The final product will be a video CDROM that will be proposed to some TV stations. I want it all to be completed by the end of 1999.
It sounds great, but I simply don't know how to promote my website and I will count on you to help me spreading the word!
May be this idea has nothing of crazy...
Submit small stuff to *contact*

The red circle highlights a corpse being thrown out of the airplane... |
The world shoud not forget - Horrible movies - download #1 For the next few updates, I will be making available small videos of very horrible situations. In April, 1988, some Hizbullah terrorists hijacked a KUWAIT airplane, for 16 days [macabre world record] in Cyprus. There were some deaths and here is a small video showing a dead body being sent out of the airplane. Do you have more info on this horror? Submit it. THESE ARE VERY HORRIBLE PICTURES. YOU SHOULD NOT DOWNLOAD THEM IF YOU ARE HIGHLY SENSITIVE TO THIS KIND OF MATERIAL. Download horror1.zip [1100 KB] After downloading, please unzip the file and play it with any standard mpeg player. This file is also available from the video section. |
