A self-providing SimCity 3000 city

Turinina is the name of my first and probably last SC3000 city... I first wrote about SimCity 3000 on 20 August 1999, after just a few minutes of game playing. This morning I spent some hours with the city simulator, going relatively deep on its tricks and strategies. I managed to build "Turinina" as a self-providing city, meaning that Turinina's taxes paying habitants and the deals with neighbor cities, are enough to earn the mayor some $10000 per year... I think it is a good money, but I am probably wrong, since the other cities have from 3 to 5 times my size... On the other hand, it is really hard to take a city up to a profitable status...

What is most distressing is the fact that I am now in year 2080, with a ~1910 architecture... quite strange! I remember building very futurist cities in SC2000. Is there anything wrong with SC3000?- Not really; it is just that the game does NOT deliver any _true_ novelties, relative to its previous releases. It is _exactly_ the same parade: gather money, mark zone, place structures, wait for it all to grow, and repeat it until you find it is enough... This "can be" a boring cycle.

And I am bored. Maybe in a few weeks time I will get back to Turinina, but right now, after trying [and not managing] to lay a highway [!!], I quit. The highway situation is so stupid! I spent a fortune connecting two parts of my city, and when I was to install the "on-ramps", I found that the highway had been in vain, as the "on-ramps" wouldn't glue anywhere!!! Damn! Does anyone know how to place "on-ramps"?! Help me!

OK, that is it. If you are interested in Turinina, go ahead and download it. It is a bright city, with almost no problems, a $68K budget, a $10K / year revenue, 150000 habitants, all in high-density zones.. There is a slight air-pollution near the border, but nothing more. Oh, of course there are no highways, as I confessed on the previous paragraph :) On the other hand, my city delivers the best mass-transit solution of the whole simnation, via expensive subways and many bus stops!
