1 - Severe HD crash

I've tried to write over the picture, in order to show you the insides of my "server" tower. You can read devices IDE0 to IDE3 and the SCSI hardware.

Here, I tried to write what "daughter" boards I have currently installed on my main PC. There was no room to write about the "CL LIVE" :)

Severe PC problems

My last few days were a true NIGHTMARE! My IDE-0 drive [normally the boot device!] had a logical crash. There was a point when I was afraid of physical damage, but at the end it was "just" a logical thing.

Somehow, IDE-0 lost track of the logical drives in the extended FAT32 partition. Being a 18 GB drive, that meant I was missing tons of files... and most of those files were my private works, my private pictures, my private projects, my private-unique-no-one-else-has-it stuff... HELL!

I simply could NOT afford to lose all those GBs of data, so I committed myself to the task of recovering it ALL. I am simply devastated, after 48 hours of no sleep, so I don't have the strength to tell you exactly how I managed to save 95% of the information. All I say is that it requested guts, imagination and some "free" software :)

Now, everything is [almost] solved, the website gets updated again, and my projects will soon resume... but first, I REALLY must sleep.

I leave you with pictures of the disaster... which are pictures of the insides of my main PC, network named "PROST". The top picture labels all the hard drives, so you can spot where IDE-0 lives. The bottom picture tries to show the remains of the PC, but since I was very tired when doing the snapshots, the images ran out-of-focus, and they don't look very good now. Sorry about that.

Bed calls me. See you _tomorrow_. Check "PROST" specs.
