The Bell insists on selling better than any other heli, plus it is the most defying toy in FS2000!
The Boeing 777 is so short that it can land @ most parking lots :) NOT true.
Airplanes do NOT pollute, so they are your best option for flying. Of course loops will NOT be possible. |
Flight
Simulator 2000 SDK
Microsoft's Flight Simulator 2000 [FS2000] might demand a monster PC to run smoothly, and despite all the stress it puts on the hardware, it does not deliver the best visuals, neither the best handling, nor the most accurate physics. Still, FS2000 blends it all in a product that might be just ahead of its time. The first obvious signs that FS2000 is very much different, comes in this file [344 KB] which includes the FS2000 Software Development Kit [FS2000 SDK]!! Microsoft rules in what comes to SDKs. The DirectX SDK has got to be the best documented SDK ever released - we can easily understand why the DX APIs have become so popular and so supported by most developers. And its free, of course... But the FS2000 SDK is a new thing. I don't know of any other flight simulator delivering an SDK! This is an important novelty, that will probably open the MS's flight simulator enough, for us to see an explosion of new planes, new physics, new scenarios, new objects, and so on. The adventures in FS2000, are all programmed with the FS2000 SDK, and should represent some nice examples of what you can achieve on your bedroom, provided you have a copy of FS2000 and a reasonable knowledge of C / C++. This SDK is all about the FS2000 APL = Adventure Programming Language. I once wrote about how "TOP serious" gaming projects now start by developing a special programming language, to serve their particular project's needs. For example, this was also done in Unreal Tournament [with Unreal Script]. The FS2000 SDK in UNsupported, but free. It comes with a sample adventure and it is just the start of something that might grow huge! Here is the file [344 KB] contents: apl sdk.pdf APL Programming Guide in Adobe Acrobat format; weather in APL.pdf Weather Commands in APL in Adobe Acrobat format; aplc.exe APL compiler for FS2000; sdk_smpl.adv Compiled sample adventure; sdk_smpl.apl Text file source for sample adventure; sdk_smpl.bmp Bitmap for sample adventure; sdk_smpl.brf Briefing file for sample adventure. ASCII text format; cfmgsr18.flt Flight file referenced by sample adventure; cfmgsr18.wx Weather file for sample adventure. |
The problem with helis is that they are more sensitive to joystick movements. You'll probably have to adjust the axis' resolution, in order not to crash...
Again, the Boeing 777 as seen from some windows.
A WW1 plane that is, in fact, easier to fly than the Bell! Strange. |
