Wimamp Goes 3D 1.41

The last few days and the next two weeks, have been [and will be] very hard on me. As I work on my current projects, I spend many hours in front of my 22" Mitsubishi 2020U, losing my hair, feeling like going mad with simple problems... that aren't that simple, and accusing the need for a massive gaming session :)

Resisting the gaming need is a challenge in itself, but I've found a way to let myself go hypnotized with sound and graphics, while working! I've been using "Winamp goes 3D" [WG3D], a visual plug-in for the popular audio player, Winamp. I use WG3D to enjoy a graphical rendering of the musics I listen to; the rendering can be very much adjusted to your preferences, and I am using it in such a fashion, that it remembers me the circular panel where Pink Floyd projected psychedelic stuff, their last tourney...

Unfortunately, don't even try to run the WG3D graphics other way, than docked on Winamp itself... If you dare running it on an individual window, or in full screen mode, unless you are powered by some dual P3@800, or something like that, the pretty curves, lights, and so on, will be rendered @ a very lousy frame rate, absolutely out of sync with the music - no fun that way!

As I use 1600x1200, as my standard desktop resolution, I get a very small WG3D window, but it can entertain me more than just the music and helping me concentrate on the work, if the right artists are chosen.

You don't even have to go code your own albums to have really great music: I've just discovered Kristin Banks @ www.mp3.com, which is a female singer that delivers some free superb files, on the style of Natalie Merchant's works!
