Japan never had an Alfred Kinsey. But if Kinsey's Report was relative to the japanese, there would be much less controversy.
Japan is crazy about photography, and young models are openly the most requested. This is a cultural issue that strongly differs from what happens in Europe and in the USA, where severe age limits drive to some not so clear situations... [read the right column]

Kinsey + Pedophilia
Alfred Charles Kinsey is often remembered each time there is a study about sexuality. For example, years ago www.expresso.pt ran a questionnaire about the Portuguese love making habits, and all the media were amazed with some of the answers. Comparisons with the controversy brought by the Kinsey Project, were a common place. Amongst many other hard-to-believe answers, there was this claim that most girls over 18 have the fantasy of doing what birds & bees do, but with two specimens of the opposite sex... at the same time... cough... cough... Kinsey was an american biologist, professor of Zoology at the Indiana University, in the USA. He dedicated his 1930s' to the study of plants. Later, in the 1940's he founded the Institute for Sex Research, nowadays known as the Kinsey Institute. Kinsey and the other researchers at the institute, interviewed nearly 18000 people about their sex behavior, and published the conclusions of such a massive study, in 1948's Sexual Behavior on the Human Male and 1953's Sexual Behavior on the Human Female. Both books are highly controversial, but IMHO the controversy comes from sex itself. Sex is often regarded as a basic expression of ourselves, but it is also a high level reflection of our nature, when Culture states what we should like and dislike. For example, Japan has a much wider sex tolerance than Europe and North America, and children are often seen on adult magazines' covers... something that the European Union (EU) and the USA are strongly fighting against, with very powerful weapons: some ISPs are being told to ban websites with pedophile contents, no matter where in the world they are hosted. Most people can see what is deeply wrong with pedophilia, but only a few can also see that it is their Culture that makes them see things the way they do. For an even better example of how much Social Culture builds people up, look at India's attitude towards cows... In India, cows are sacred animals, that can't be killed and eaten, and must be well treated all the time. India has professionals on cow care (are you laughing?) and some families starve, while their cow doesn't... (hard to accept, right?). So, just like many India's citizens requested war against the UK (!!), when the UE ordered the killing of thousand of cows, infected with BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy), the UE is declaring war to pedophiles (adults who have sex with minors), no matter the Culture argument. The Kinsey Report is often left unmentioned, on the war against pedophiles, but it features scientific arguments that present an highly unusual look at sex with children... The most controversial parts of the report are, precisely, the homosexual and the pedophile chapters. Kinsey and his mates got so much involved in the study, that they even participated in homo experiments, and they interviewed adults who sexually abused their sons & daughters, for years. Today, some of these sons & daughters are grown, and have legal issues against the Kinsey Institute (for knowing about the crimes, and doing nothing to stop them). Recently, the Kinsey Institute destroyed many documents that were the roots to the most controversial chapters, in order to protect the identity of the people who helped on the study. While in life, Kinsey said that "he saw no harm in touching children anyway, as an expression of love [...] and that children could even benefit from such cares"... can you now understand why the Kinsey report is top controversial?! It is hard, even impossible, to accept many of the conclusions of the Kinsey's Study. But if studies like this are mentioned when they are aligned with the trends, they should also be mentioned, when they go against the popular opinion. If not, they would be best not mentioned at all, or people will form a distorted picture about the author(s). This is kind of an unofficial release, only available from Pinnacle's european ftp servers; the USA's site doesn't offer this file, and there is a huge thread on the discussion board, about Pinnacle's terrible support to low end customers. Installation might be a nightmare. For example, this software never installed the teletext product on my system, but always installed the radio application... which I can't use, since I don't own the PRO version... Your greatest problems should come from the driver itself, since PCTV is also available as service or a display name, depending on your system. After all the struggles, this is an advised installation! #2) Adaptec ASPI layer, revision 1921: here [282 KB] This one updates your Advanced SCSI Protocol Interface, which is something you should do, if using SCSI hardware. #3) Microsoft DirectX 7 Debug version for Windows 2000: here [2263 KB] If you code using the superb DX7 API, you might find this release convenient. If offers debug information. However, if you never code, don't install this one, as it will probably cut 1 or 2 frames, on your frame rate. Not much, if your graphics hardware is fast, though. |
Teen models are #1 on requests for photo sessions @ Japan.
Age & nudity is a problem when exporting many japanese magazines. The Europe and the USA don't allow these contents, despite movies like Stanley Kubrick's (1962) Lolita, where Hollywood did imply the 16 years old Sue Lyon... and video clips... and fashion shows... cough cough... Some lack of coherence? |
