1 - General Weblog (for September 2000)

The Air France Concorde crash fueled many sites, who published pictures and videos of the accident.

Concorde is far from being the only plane to fall - check this serious problem with this huge flying machine... if you wonder what comes next, try the crashpages.com.

Is far safer flying at home. Microsoft delivers the best controller hardware you can buy. The Sidewinder 3D Pro stick, with force feedback and extra axes for rudder and throttle, is just great!

If you are looking for the PRO keyboards, you might have trouble finding them in Europe, so try their source in the Internet!

General WEBLOG for September 2000

Here are the best URLs, I visited during September 2000. If you are just looking for Computer Science URLs, I decided to write a special log file for them, available here.

http://www.2cpu.com/

A site dedicated to dual processor computing.

http://www.crashpages.com/

Ahmm... a page on serious accidents. Kind of morbid...

http://www.rpgplanet.com/deusex/

DeusEx is one of my favorite games these days. This site is a must visit for everyone into the DeusEx universe.

Looking Glass studios are dead (one of the most sad events of the year), but there still are people supporting their software. For example, Frank has a hangar for the best flight simulator of all times - Flight Unlimited 3.

http://divx.vcdguide.com

DIVX is a wonderful CODEC. Don't know about it? Looking for specialized players? Check here first.

http://www.microsoft.com/products/hardware/hardware.htm

Microsoft keeps releasing the coolest hardware controllers, but Europe is slow on imports. If you want to buy the most recent joys, you'd better do it online. Uhm... I might build a shop for you to buy them for less money, but I should check Amazon.co.uk first, to see if they agree with such deals...

http://www.ruc-online.com/

Rádio Universidade de Coimbra online. O meu grande amigo António Silva (Tó Zé) recomendou-me a página da "sua rádio", mas o melhor é mesmo o que se ouve, e năo que se vę.

http://www.thechainsaw.com/

The most expensive DVD I have ever bought! Gore! Blood! Don't visit this one. Unless...

http://www.tobehooper.com/

Speaking of Texas Chainsaw Massacres... here is the personal website of the lunatic behind it all!

http://www.zxspec.freeserve.co.uk/resources.html

Everything about the greatest computer, ever! SINCLAIR's ZX SPECTRUM.

Not all plane crashes translate in human deaths. This one was all about grass surfing...

But if you want to fly alone, with no one messing up, try Flight Unlimited 3... Of course it is nearly impossible to buy the game now, that Looking Glass studios ran out of money, but there still are fans supporting it. Start at the "pilot's haven".

Again, Microsoft hardware! This cool gear is the "Freestyle Pro" gamepad.

I have one of these. It has a tilt sensor that can read how much you are tilting it, so it is perfect for games where controller inclination is important... eg Motocross Madness.
