Bill Gates!, I know it is kind of fashion to dislike Bill Gates, but I simply adore the man, everything he achieved, and what he stands for!

One of the very first Microsoft business cards. This beauty is from the BASIC, pre-MS-DOS times!

F1 @ Brazil 2000 - Race

Brazil's 2000 F1 GP was an interesting race, yet everyone missed the rain and a trusty Maclaren for Hakkinen!

Schumacher scored his second win on a row, which is something very dangerous, as he is quite experienced and can surely manage a 20 points gap to Mika Hakkinen, as no else can... meaning that if the tide doesn't turn quick enough, the championship might just get too red.

Maclaren and Ferrari were clearly running different tactics. The italian cars were 1 second per lap faster than everyone else, during the first third of the race, creating a natural expectation on spectators, about which was the better option: the single stop, or the dual stop strategy?

I believe Maclaren would have won Brazil, if it wasn't for another car failure. Schumacher didn't deliver the same performance, after his 1st pitstop and was really losing time to his fin rival.

Barrichello blew it too soon, causing many brazilians to desert the circuit... and Coulthard simply wasn't capable of being a threat to the german.

The real interesting bits were on the mid-field, which is all the cars, except for the top 6, these days :).

Irvine was showing quite a pace, until he had a small crash on the slower part of the circuit, exactly the same place where, laps before, Alesi parked the Prost...

Button showed everyone how a 20 years old kid, with just one race of F1 experience, can drive as fast as Ralph Schumacher... on a kind of economical BMW engine, that managed over 50 laps without refueling.

Well, next race is on Europe (San Marino), and that should make things even more interesting...

Cinemania 96 - Reverse Engineering

For the next few weeks, I will working on an hypermedia document, about the Cinemania 96 CDROM. The approach is kind of reverse engineering: I will try to answer the question how can you build such a multimedia product, starting from the final thing.

For now, you can read the 1st installment, only available in european portuguese:

Cinemania 96 - Parte #1 - Introdução

Durante as próximas semanas, trabalharei num documento na área científica de Hipermedia, sobre o CDROM Cinemania 96. A aproximação seguida, num sentido lato, é a de reverse engineering: tentarei responder à questão de como se faz um produto destes, partindo do produto final.

Para já, está disponível a introdução, apenas em português europeu:

Documents on Artificial Intelligence

During the next 4 sundays, I will be publishing 4 documents of mine, on the subject of Artificial Intelligence. These documents will only be available in european portuguese.

These documents will be added to the documents table, soon.

Ao longo dos próximos 4 domingos, publicarei 4 documentos da minha autoria, sobre Inteligência Artificial. Estes documentos estarão apenas disponíveis em português europeu.

Jack Stewart, a not that regular presence anymore. His wife requests his presence at home... a lot!

No red flags! during the race... This means that they extra-glued the Marlboro ads :)

No accidents, during the race... at least, not this spectacular.

No race stops, which was nice.
