Mavica Exhibit #10 - Lisbon #01
The Mavica page has had some exhibits whose pictures were taken at Lisbon / Portugal, but the city itself was yet to deserve a proper expo. Here is the text that complements a first selection of 12 pictures. You can visit these pictures, from their dedicated page, or by choosing the 10th exposition, from the main Mavica page. You can visit the 1024x768 originals, from their dedicated page. Lisbon is a bucket of colors. The city boils on traffic, but from a lamppost's perspective (#1) all there is, is the wintry gray water (#2) that the gutters were unable to drain. If the lamppost could rise its rusty head and set eye on what lies ahead, it would marvel itself with the living mosaic of buildings of all shapes and heights (#3, #4, #5, #7, #8). Some lampposts are luckier than other. Sometimes, a lamppost can reign over grass (#6)... but this luxury is just one side of the coin, because the same streets that flow with cars and the people they hide, may also unveil those who don't, or can't hide (#9)... Everyone is in a hurry (#11), even underground (#10). But those who live IN the city, and can afford not to race out, by the end of the day... can watch and feel the high contrast and strange peace, of the sunset (#12). |
