Biotecnol case study

Here is the first paragraph of my academic article on Biotecnol and the the generic biopharmaceutical drugs industry.

All life forms are built on cells, each relying on its Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) molecules to represent the information needed for doing direct protein synthesis and replication. These DNA molecules are organized on higher level structures called chromosomes, located inside the nucleus of every cell.
DNA is a helicoidal structure of two linked chains of chemical compounds called nucleotides. All creatures, from Humans to the Escherichia coli bacteria living in human’s intestines, have its DNA nucleotides composed of just four possible bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), thymine (T), and cytosine (C). Because of this common ground, it is possible to include genes (segments of DNA) from one creature into another, even if from a different species – this technology is called recombinant DNA (rDNA) and it is the work basis of much of the biopharmaceutical industry (BI), since the 1980s. This way, BI aims at finding and developing new drugs for the treatment of diseases.

Genes - Blame it all on them :).

Bad genes - encode cancer.
