I watched it on 2006–08–10, very late on the night.

This is the most intense strictly suspense movie I have ever watched!
Strictly suspense means there is no explicit violence on screen. There is no punching, stabbing or shooting. In fact, this movie is so minimalist that there are only two real characters: Clémentine Sauveur and Lucas Medvec. The other few people that do appear, have such brief showings, that they don’t mature to the point of deserving a name.

The fact that the story is “based on true events” certainly adds to the suspense. Clémentine was a French professor on Snagov (land of the Dracula), Romania. Medvec was her husband/boyfriend. They both lived in a beautiful old, enormous, house. One night, someone will want to play with them.

The movie achieves its intensity by NOT showing what is going on, although it never feels like if it is hiding events, because the action is filmed from Clementine’s and/or Lucas’ point-of-view.

This surely is an extreme experience: the person who watched it with me, who is much more sensitive than I am, did a lot of legs exercises and had to go the bathroom…

My rating: 9/10
