What a superb movie! I never expected Click to be so great! This was because of my Adam Sandler preconception. Whenever I know Adam Sandler is in the cast, I expect comedy, never beyond the “entertaining 90 minutes” level. Straight to the point, this level already is “quality” on my scale, but Sandler somehow got stuck there, until Click.

Click is all laughs until when emotions turn sorrow and it transforms itself from a comedy to a drama, that reminds me of Charles Dickens’ 1843 Christmas Carol, although the Christmas theme is absent…

It is not a spoiler – just check the movie’s poster… – to state that one particular “universal remote control” is central to the events. This remote allows its owner to control more than electrical appliances…

Sandler – playing the architect Michael Newman – will try to use the device to help him on his professional career. There will be consequences. Those consequences range from funny to very emotional (tears, yes). Among the reasons why viewers will be spread across the whole emotional spectrum, is a certain “moral”, which many will realize they aren’t complying with.

Dickens’ Christmas Carol is also strong on morals, and very much in the same retrospective fashion, hence my initial remark. Still, while Dickens’ directly applies to a niche, Click applies to most, if not all people.

Really surprising movie, bed bath and way beyond the “good comedy” notch.

I won’t forget it soon.

My rating: 9/10
